Welcome to the page for my most beloved series of all time— Kill The Past. Including all the games, manga, and other writing for the series. The titular element of the stories included within the series is protagonists first having a past that has been "killed" through repressing memories or ignoring it, but then having to properly acknowledge and confront it in order to truly "kill" it and move on.

PLAY GUIDE

I draw a lot of inspiration from this series, and try to include it in almost every project I work on. I love it so much that I even got a whole chest tattoo dedicated to it!

Though I love all entries in this series, there is a hierarchy. My favourite entries in the whole series are as follows, in ranking from first to last.

  1. Killer7 — My number one in terms of story, OST, characters, gameplay, and everything else that encompasses an amazing game experience! Dan Smith is one of my top fav characters of all time, though it's a shame that not many other characters from this game were able to be explored as much as him. Also, poor Garcie... "Garcie, don't cry. That ain't like you."

  2. Flower, Sun, And Rain — For as much as my experience with this game was exhausting and frustrating, I think it falls into the category of games don't have to be fun to be fun for me. I think I mostly enjoy this game lore-wise, but it also includes one of my other favourite characters— Sumio Mondo!

  3. The Silver Case — Mostly for nostalgia reasons, but also, this game expertly sets up the rest of the series moving forward. Had me hooked from the very first chapter, and made me fall in love with all the characters, setting, and themes included. Honestly? In my top 3 best games ever list, and I don't think that'll ever change. It's led to me enjoying one of the best experiences of my life that I still think about daily.

If you get the chance, I highly recommend playing through the whole series. Including the extra reading of documents and manga. The world, themes, and conversations had within this series have stuck with me for a long time, and feel partciularly relevant to my life at least.

Plus, the games are just fucking cool.
